Turning hollow forms has always given me a great sense of accomplishment. They are challenging technically and artistically. Many of my hollow forms are inspired by the shapes found in nature such as the humble egg. Here is a brief description of the process I use to transform a somewhat bland wooden hollow form into a finished work of art.
Once a hollow form has been turned for the project the design is laid out in pencil.
